About Dr McVicker
He graduated from The Queen’s University of Belfast in 1978 and completed vocational training in General Practice 1982. Since then he has worked in the psychiatry of learning disability in Northern Ireland and South East Scotland for 20 years. Since retirement from the NHS he has worked on a part time basis for the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland and as a Medical Member of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland.
He has provided input to Danshell (Scotland) services since May 2013.
He enjoys caravan holidays with his family, including regular visits to Steam Preservation Railway Galas around the country, reflecting the special interest of his step son with autism: steam trains
